Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge 01/24/2009

We visited the Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge this AM. We did not get there until around 11 AM, so we missed most of the morning activities of nature and found too many visitors (they talk way too much!). I was hoping to see some alligators and snakes; however, only sited two alligators. I am sure that there were more that were nicely camouflaged by the dense foliage. We did watch several Great Blue Herons building nests. We also sited several Pileated Woodpeckers and Hawks.

A beautiful winter day in South Florida

I decided to get off of the couch and go enjoy the beautiful weather. I went To the Boynton Inlet and John Prince Park. I got some nice shots, especially of a few birds feeding on small fish.
