We visited the Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge this AM. We did not get there until around 11 AM, so we missed most of the morning activities of nature and found too many visitors (they talk way too much!). I was hoping to see some alligators and snakes; however, only sited two alligators. I am sure that there were more that were nicely camouflaged by the dense foliage. We did watch several Great Blue Herons building nests. We also sited several Pileated Woodpeckers and Hawks.
