Green Cay Nature Center 05/03/2008

Today, David, Melissa, and myself visited the Green Cay Nature Center and Wetlands. We did see several alligators and nesting birds; however, most of the birds have left for the season. It was a warm, beautiful day, with a nice breeze!

Alligator

The following 4 pictures are of an alligator doing his/her thing! The reptile ends up hiding in the weeds...look closely!

What a great day! Great photos! Is that butterfly a Zebra Heliconian? I think I saw a damselfly in one of the pictures. Soft-shelled turtles have such interesting faces. Nice shots of the nesting birds. Wood Storks, Limpkins, alligators, and Anhingas! Geez, you guys are spoiled out there.

WE call the Anhingas the snake bird.
