I biked John Prince Park this AM. It was hot and humid. Welcome to South Florida! I biked 12.3 miles of concrete paths, mulched paths, nature trails, and grassed areas. There were numerous feral Iguanas sunning themselves. I saw several Great Blue Herons. I only saw a few Alligators today. I saw a decent sized one that was out of my range. The specimen attempted a strike a water bird and missed. The trials of life!
Thank you for visiting. Click on any photo to enjoy its native size & please leave a comment! My photos are captured with my Canon Rebel XTI with a Tameron 28 - 300 MM lens, Canon PowerShot SD800 IS and/or iPhone.

Biking in Big Pine Key 05/23/2009
I am scratched and have many mosquito bites from today's outing! It rained earlier this week and the mosquitoes are out in full numbers. We biked 10.8 miles through the paths in Big Pine. It was a good time; however, it time to go snorkelng to cool off!
A beautiful dead end.
On this section of the path, you will have a head ache if you do no duck! There were many low hanging branches on this mosquito ridden path.
Thank goodness that we have rear-suspension bikes! The paths down here are mostly roots, fallen branches, pot holes, and lime stone. The are joint jarring!
This section of the path runs parallel with the local correction facility.

Key Deer 05/23/2009
This specimen swam ashore onto my friend's property and was feeding behind my vehicle! Yes, these guys swim and can be seen hopping the small islands around Big Pine Key.
