JPP 05/31/2009

I biked John Prince Park this AM.  It was hot and humid.  Welcome to South Florida!  I biked 12.3 miles of concrete paths, mulched paths, nature trails, and grassed areas.  There were numerous feral Iguanas sunning themselves.  I saw several Great Blue Herons.  I only saw a few Alligators today.  I saw a decent sized one that was out of my range.  The specimen attempted a strike a water bird and missed.  The trials of life!

Hi Joe
Interesting that you have feral Iguanas - presumably unwanted pets?
What a dangerous looking pest. Very well fed ones too.
Lots of interesting birds out there.
Cheers
Denis

Dennis,

The Iguana have been a nuisance for a while and they have no natural predators.

Hi Joe, first time on your blog, and wow this is some collection of birds you have in your area. May be one day I will make my trip to Florida, just for that. We only have Great blue herons here. Anna :)

Great variety of great pics. One of them 3445 looks a lot like a Canadian Blue Jay. Another 3457 is a strange bird with a tattoo on its side N66046. SMILE!!!
