Key Deer 05/23/2009
This specimen swam ashore onto my friend's property and was feeding behind my vehicle! Yes, these guys swim and can be seen hopping the small islands around Big Pine Key.

I think your friend's backyard has a lot of food that attract this cute deer.
The Key Deer like to eat the foliage and flowers. They are protected and a major portion of Big Pine Key is a refuge for the species!
