Shark Valley

Today, Jennifer, Elan, Greg, David, and myself went to Shark Valley (the northern entrance the the Everglades National Park). It was a beautiful day with a high of 70, a 6 MPH wind, 55% humidity, and an overcast. We walked 6 miles of the loop. We will return with our bikes next time and ride the entire loop. We saw nature galore with my highlight being the observation of Alligator Gar jumping out of the water. Unfortunately, I did not get a shot of this exhibited behavior. We observed many Alligators of all sizes, with some being just a few feet from the path. I was excited to see a Roseate Spoonbill from a distance.

Great pics, Joe. Pretty soon they may have to do something about the over population of gators. It could start being unsafe for people to walk or even ride bikes through there. Even so it looks like it turned out to be a a nice day for ya'll. Wish we could have been there to join you. Keep up the good work.
