Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge 01/24/2009

We visited the Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge this AM. We did not get there until around 11 AM, so we missed most of the morning activities of nature and found too many visitors (they talk way too much!). I was hoping to see some alligators and snakes; however, only sited two alligators. I am sure that there were more that were nicely camouflaged by the dense foliage. We did watch several Great Blue Herons building nests. We also sited several Pileated Woodpeckers and Hawks.

Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge 03/08/2008

We visited the Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge today. It was a beautiful day. We had a nice breeze and the temperature was dropping quick, as its predicted to be in the 40's this evening. We did not see many critters, but we still enjoyed our walk and the tranquility that the park offers for each visitor.

Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge 02/16/2008

We visited the Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge today. As usual, it was beautiful. We saw several alligators, turtles, and birds galore. The insects in the picture below are baby grasshoppers.
