Goodbye ATT & hello Vonage!

Vonage is now the provider for my land-line service! The transfer was finalized yesterday and was quicker than initially stated. I also have received the label to return the box that contains the ATT DSL modem. I am now awaiting ATT's final bill to see all of the cancelaton charges that they are famous for.

The ATT saga continues

Upon arriving home from work today, I found the expected box from ATT that contained their DSL modem. I had already planned to call them and inquire on the procedure to return the box and its content. This was to be my closure. I thought wrong! ATT continued with their cluster fuck that included the order not being cancelled, my phone line not being cleared, and me having to partake in part of my experience last Friday; therefore, closure is not happening this week. Additionally, my order with Vonage is delayed because ATT's comtrol issues. Vonage cannot sucessfully request for my number to be transffed until my line is cleared of the DSL service, even though its not activated and Earthlink cancelled their services. I was informed that because of ATT's cluster fuck, my Vonage service may not be established for 14 days (that includes transferring my current phone number). Sound like the Twilight Zone? After 45 minutes of conversations and being transferred to three people, my request to ATT is once again allegably in process. I can say with confidence that Comcast is successfully providing me with internet service. We have to mention positives and accept situations that are gratifying.

Back on-line via Comcast

I was off the net for a few; however, thanks to Comcast, I am on the net today. I was with Earthlink for sometime and closed my account after a recent cluster-fuck with ATT (imagine that). I resolved the newest cluster-fuck and Earthlink stated that my account would be down for as long as 14 days to allow for ATT to clear my line and for Earthlink to be allowed (by ATT) to re-instated their DSL service onto my line. I canceled my Earthlink account and went to Comcast and purchased their service. I was on-line within minutes of returning home. Next, I tweaked my Airport Extreme router for my new service and re-established secured home network. All is working again and faster than ever (12 MBPS from 1.5 MBPS). My MacBook Pro and iPhones now scream with speed!

Since ATT is such a cluster-fuck, I went to Circuit City and purchased Vonage for my landline via my cable service. Joe, the sales clerk, assited my in establishing this new service. I am now waiting for Vonage to switch my old number from ATT that can take 10 days because ATT are assholes about allows theor customers to take their numbers with them (the new federal law). The only thng ATT does that is easy is take your money and cause headaches.
