Ft. Lauderdale Beach (the classic strip!)

David and I spent the afternoon at the Ft. Lauderdale Beach with Liz & the kids. It was a beautiful day! Too bad Scott was not with us.

Liz & the kids were in Lauderdale to escape the threat of hurricane Ike. Scott stayed back at BPK to guard the fort. Hopefully, we are saved from the brunt of the storm and the mountains of Cuba deteriorate the force and potential of Ike. Additionally, we hope the Scott is in one piece! He is the brave one who may get to witness the strength of mother nature.

Juliette, Ga. 08/28/2008

We had a great time in Juliette, where the move "Green Fried Tomatoes" was filmed. We ate at the "Whistle Stop Cafe". This is a very scenic area. Due to the needed rain from TS Fay, the water level was high and we could not explore the water fall too much. BTW, this was the only day that it did not rain while we were in Ga! I was glad that it was not too humid!

Overall, we had a great time during our 8 day hiatus in Georgia. Even though it rained 7:8 days, the weather was gorgeous because it was unseasonably cool. The worse day was on Tuesday (08/26/2008) when I slipped and fell in a puddle of water that fried my iPhone. The phone now works as a hand-held wireless device, but does not work as a phone. I broke down and purchased the Iphone 3G/16 GB model. Thank goodness for plastic! The sad part is, Vicky slipped and fell at High Falls and broke her phone! Is this a pattern that warrants a qualitative/quanitative imperical study?

Georgia Aquarium 08/27/2008

The Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta is an awesome exhibit of salt and fresh water specimen. They now have 4 Whale Sharks and a Manaray. The picture were taken on my PowerShot and some are of poor quality due to the lighting and the fact that the fish do not pose for their pictures!
