TS Fay vs the Golden Silk Orbweaver

I snapped a few shots of this specimen who has been able to survive the 60+ MPH gusts of TS Fay and her wind driven rain with no problem! The strength of a spider web and the agility of the specimen is amazing. This is the same specimen that I have posted several times; however, this time, I snapped the shots from my patio and the screen from the balcony is not distorting the shots.

Hi Joe
We have a spider here in Oz which goes by the same name, but looks quite different. Ours does not have the striking leg markings of yours, and tend to be fatter. But obviously both make a similar golden-coloured rounded web.
Cheers

We returned from our vacation to find a bigger Orbweaver has taken over the web and the photographed specimen as being dead. This is trials of life!

Hi Joe
Are you guys in any danger from the current Hurricane? Hope not.

Denise,

We have wind and rain. So far, we are free and clear of the related dangers! Thanks for asking!
